Youth Field Hockey Programs

The Toronto Field Hockey Club offers a number of field hockey programs for youth from age 8 to 18. We offer both outdoor field hockey programs and indoor programs. Our programs are designed for beginners, recreational athletes and those who would like to play at a competitive level:

Outdoor field hockey skill development programs on artificial turf at Lamport Stadium and Birchmount Stadium in two seasons, Spring to Early Summer & Late Summer to Fall (view programs)
Outdoor TFHC Club League in May & early June
Indoor field hockey skill development programs from November to March (view programs)
Indoor field hockey club league & tournaments from January to March
Competitive outdoor and indoor club tournaments in Toronto and other cities in Ontario

For athletes who want to play field hockey at a competitive level, the TFHC has an excellent history of developing players who have played for Canada and Ontario at all age levels (U16, U18, U21 and Senior). Most of our competitive program junior program graduates play field hockey at Canadian universities and US NCAA colleges.

Coaching @ TFHC

The TFHC has a coaching curriculum (on video) with lessons that have been learned by as many as two thousand players and are the same lessons a number of athletes who played for Canada in the Olympics have done. Coaches & players (and parents) of the TFHC plus guests can access the TFHC Video Coaching Curriculum by clicking here.

A Practice Plan Manual to help coaches organize their practice sessions is also available and found by clicking here.

The TFHC plays an active role with school field hockey in Toronto. We have developed a few coaching advice documents for school coaches and players.
